Fall is Sweater Weather – At Last

Fall Season
Fall Season

My wife and I live in California, and that means it takes a while longer for Fall weather to arrive than it does in many other states.  Maureen is not a fan of our summers, due to the high temperatures we experience in our neck of the woods.  She anxiously anticipates the return of cooler days and her walks around our Lake.  Once the temperature reaches a high of 70, my wife brings out her sweaters.  In addition, our house becomes filled with tons of Fall decorations, including wreaths, pumpkins and assorted centerpieces.  Rest assured the scent of apples, cinnamon and pumpkins will permeate our home from the lit candles in our kitchen, until we reach the Christmas season.  I happen to be a Summer guy at heart, but marriage requires compromise, right?

My wife is an avid shopper and Fall really brings that shopping gene out in full bloom.  She enjoys reading fashion magazines and “window shopping” in some of the pricey stores.  However, she is always looking for a good sale and loves going to outlets.  The state’s largest High End Outlet Mall opened over a year ago and it’s only a 40 minute drive from where we live.  It’s important to her to look stylish and she enjoys wearing some of the latest trends.  Lately, she has been mentioning “bags with fringe”, cashmere scarves, corduroy trousers and knee high boots.  I’m sure I’ll be seeing a new purse on her arm before long.  My wife also watches QVC on television from time to time.  Not only does she find great prices there, but she also learns lots of information about the latest and greatest styles.

With the change of seasons, my wife also changes her beauty routine.  She subscribes to many magazines and reads about the latest makeup trends.  I have to admit I enjoy having a woman on my arm who takes care of herself and keeps up with the times.  She shops the stores, but often finds that the best prices for her beauty products seem to be on Amazon.com.  Since we have Amazon Prime and don’t pay for shipping, this is the least expensive way to go for us (her).  As a result, I’ve recently come home to more than a few Amazon packages sitting on our front porch.

Fall Foliage

Last week my wife joined our daughter for a drive to enjoy the Fall foliage.  It’s not as easy to find such a view here in California as it is on the east coast.  However, where there’s a will, there’s a way!  When she arrived home, she was enjoying a Pumpkin Spice Latte as she showed me a few things she bought to “perk up the kitchen”.  It seems she and our daughter stopped at a home décor store on their way back.  She mentioned several other fall enhancements that she saw and suggested we visit that store together before long.  Now, a day shopping for fall decorations is not something that I am looking forward to doing.  However, as I said, marriage requires compromise!!

Although, Fall’s arrival has made my wife one happy woman, all of these new purchases aren’t free.  Being retired, we were always looking for ways to bring in extra money.  We recently joined a wonderful community called Wealthy Affiliate (WA).  It provides a host of training and a pathway to earn additional income while you work, or it can enhance one’s retirement income.  It is a welcoming community of people who encourage one another and offer help as needed.  WA allows you to work as much or as little as you wish, based on your time availability.  It is not a get-rich-quick scheme, but a way to earn income on your own terms.  Whether you work days or nights, whether you are a student or a Mom with children, this is a program that can help you reach your goals.  The best part is that you can join for FREE!!!  Are you willing to work for what you need or want?  If so, Wealthy Affiliate could be the answer for you.

My wife and I can’t believe what a welcoming community of people we have met online since we joined Wealthy Affiliate.  I think you will feel the same, if you give this wonderful organization a chance.  They provide the “know-how” and the tools to succeed, if you are willing to do the work.  You do not have to be a computer expert.  In fact some people in WA are computer novices.  WA provides training, and asking the community for help is a good way to get additional support.  As I said, you can give it a try for FREE.  If you are happy with what you see, you can sign up to become a Premium member and find a myriad of additional training and assistance.

Well, on that note, I’m off to the home décor store.
